This laboratory reconstitution calculator converts solute mass and solvent volume into concentration, and optionally solves a simple laboratory dilution (C1V1 = C2V2). It is not a dosing or injection calculator.
Using the laboratory reconstitution calculator
Enter mass and volume below. Then compare the lot on your vial to the Certificates of Analysis library and return to research compounds if you need another listing. Questions: Contact Us. This tool is for laboratory math only. See FDA outsourcing facility information.
Laboratory Concentration & Dilution Calculator
Solute mass and solvent volume only. Not a dosing, injection, or medical tool.
Results
- Solution concentration
- — mg/mL (— mcg/mL)
- Stock volume for dilution (V1)
- — mL
- Solvent to add
- — mL
For laboratory solution preparation only. Not for human or veterinary use.
How the math works
Concentration (mg/mL) = Solute mass mg ÷ Solvent volume mL
Dilution stock volume (V1) = (Target concentration × Final volume) ÷ Stock concentration
Example: 5 mg solute in 2 mL solvent = 2.5 mg/mL (2,500 mcg/mL).
